General Anesthesiologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking board‑certified or board‑eligible General Anesthesiologists to join its expanding MD Primary model team. Physicians will have the opportunity to perform the majority of cases independently while collaborating with residents and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) for the remainder.

Key responsibilities

• Perform up to 75 % of anesthesia cases solo, ensuring safe peri‑operative care.
• Work alongside residents and CRNAs for the remaining cases, providing supervision and education.
• Deliver anesthesia services for complex surgical procedures within a high‑volume tertiary‑care referral center handling over 52,000 cases annually.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Anesthesiology (BC/BE).
• Open to new graduates as well as experienced anesthesiologists.
• Commitment to caring for complex patients undergoing challenging surgeries in a large academic hospital.
