Gastroenterologist – Esophageal/Foregut Specialist

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to lead its esophageal disease program in New Orleans. The position focuses exclusively on esophageal and foregut disorders, overseeing a state‑of‑the‑art motility lab and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, otolaryngologists, and speech‑pathology specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the GI component of a regional multidisciplinary esophageal swallowing disorders program.
• Oversee an existing esophageal motility lab equipped with high‑resolution manometry, EndoFlip®, BRAVO® pH testing, and impedance testing.
• Develop and support programs related to Barrett’s esophagus and endobariatrics, as desired.
• Participate in teaching activities for GI fellows and internal medicine residents.
• Engage in clinical research using the department’s dedicated infrastructure.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated expertise in esophageal and foregut disorders.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary clinical program and mentor trainees.

Required skills

• pH impedance testing.
