Full-Time Academic Nephrologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System-Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center – Shreveport are seeking a fellowship‑trained nephrologist for a full‑time academic position in Monroe, LA. The role combines patient care with teaching responsibilities and requires active Louisiana licensure and board certification/eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for acute and chronic kidney disease, including critical care nephrology, glomerulonephritis, vasculitis, hypertension, and electrolyte disorders.
• Manage renal complications of systemic cancer, renal and non‑renal transplants, and dialysis access.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop individualized care plans.

Required profile

• Fellowship‑trained in nephrology with eligibility for active Louisiana medical licensure.
• Board certified or board eligible (BC/BE) in internal medicine or nephrology.
• Interest in academic medicine, including teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
