Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to own and build our finance function from the ground up. You will design systems and controls, oversee all accounting operations, and act as a strategic partner to leadership in a fast‑growing fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month/quarter/year‑end close.
• Produce accurate financial statements and regular reporting.
• Design and implement internal controls, segregation of duties, approvals, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain audit readiness.
• Manage tax compliance, cash‑flow forecasting, treasury, and banking relationships.
• Support equity‑related processes such as valuations and issuance workflows.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and key business decisions.
• Contribute to fundraising, diligence, and financial planning.
• Build a scalable finance stack and optimize accounting/finance systems.
• Continuously improve processes and explore automation, including AI tools.

Required profile

• 6–10 years of experience across accounting and finance, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or mid‑tier) and in‑house startup or high‑growth experience.
• CPA or equivalent technical rigor preferred.
• Proven ability to own and operate a finance/accounting function with significant autonomy.
• Comfortable building processes and systems from scratch.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and compliance.
• Exposure to digital assets, fintech, or emerging financial technologies is a plus.
• Based in or willing to relocate to a major financial hub; role is onsite.
