Financial Accountant – Miami

About the role

Black Sheep Coffee is looking for a motivated Financial Accountant to join its Miami office. You will support the Finance department across a range of activities, from month‑end close to new store launches, while gaining exposure to a fast‑growing scale‑up entering the US market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in reconciling bank transactions and general‑ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
• Support the month‑end close process, including journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and detailed balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly reports and analyses that provide insights for business leaders.
• Contribute to cross‑functional projects such as US market entry, supply‑chain build‑out, store openings and marketing campaigns.
• Provide audit support for UK and US auditors.
• Identify and implement process improvements or automation within accounting workflows.
• Prepare and file monthly tax returns, including state sales and use tax.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in finance or accounting, including month‑end close, journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Experience in retail, hospitality, restaurant or multi‑site environments is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
