Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate

About the role

Womble Bond Dickinson is seeking a motivated associate to join its Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group on the Financial Services Team. The role will support a variety of equipment finance transactions across multiple U.S. offices.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review loan documents, leases, amendments, and ancillary agreements for equipment finance deals.
• Assist with local counsel opinions, including reviewing requests, coordinating with referring counsel, and drafting opinion packages.
• Conduct due diligence, review organizational documents, and manage closing checklists.
• Track transaction details to ensure timely and accurate closings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, referring counsel, and internal team members.
• Anticipate deal needs and provide practical, solution‑oriented support throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in equipment finance, asset‑based lending, or commercial finance.
• Strong legal drafting skills and ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Self‑motivated, dependable, and comfortable working with a high level of autonomy.
• Admitted to practice, or eligible for admission, in the jurisdiction of the assigned office.
