Field Development Test Associate

About the role

The Robotics Field Development Test Associate supports testing, deployment, and operation of Serve's autonomous delivery robots in real‑world environments. You will execute field testing, perform commercial deliveries, and collect data that drives product improvements and ensures safe, reliable robot operation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute field testing activities following established test plans, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Deploy, monitor, recover, and operate robots in outdoor settings while ensuring reliability.
• Perform commercial deliveries and represent Serve professionally with merchants and the public.
• Identify, document, and reproduce software, hardware, and operational issues for engineering investigation.
• Collect test data, observations, and feedback to support continuous product improvement.
• Prepare robots for testing by conducting inspections, charging, cleaning, and basic maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow test procedures accurately.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to work independently.
• Comfortable working outdoors, walking or biking several miles per shift, and lifting equipment as needed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
