Fashion Accessories & Belts Designer

About the role

The Designer – Fashion Accessories & Belts will create mood boards, sketches, and concepts for the Betsey Johnson line, develop technical packs, and collaborate with overseas partners. The role supports the Wholesale Accessories business and works on‑site in our NYC office.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble mood boards to guide seasonal direction
• Sketch and design accessory concepts, focusing on belts
• Create detailed tech packs for production
• Communicate design specifications with overseas manufacturers
• Present new products to the sales team
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Support special projects and ad‑hoc duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fashion
• 3–5 years of experience in belts or fashion accessories
• Strong sense of contemporary fashion and trend awareness
• Excellent communication, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities

Required skills

• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
• Experience with hardware development for accessories
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
