Fall 2026 Industrial Engineer Co‑op

About the role

This 2026 Fall Co‑op offers Industrial Engineering students hands‑on experience at Bosch Charleston’s manufacturing plant. Over three work terms you will support layout updates, material handling design, and small‑department projects while applying Lean Manufacturing principles.

Key responsibilities

• Update plant machine and equipment layouts using CAD (MicroStation).
• Write, design, and coordinate work requests for equipment installation or relocation.
• Conduct time and delay studies of machine cycles and operator stations.
• Participate in Lean projects such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, Quick Changeover, and Standard Work.
• Perform ergonomic evaluations and recommend improvements.
• Design, implement, and improve material handling systems.
• Lead a small project from inception to completion, including a department‑level responsibility.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Systems Engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a team.
