Facilities Operations Technician

About the role

As a Facilities Operations Technician at xAI, you will operate and maintain the critical facility systems that power our supercomputing data centers. Working hands‑on with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, you’ll handle maintenance, operations, and repairs to ensure peak performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure MEP infrastructure site safety and environmental compliance with local and regional health and safety requirements.
• Provide operational expertise for MEP systems including pumps, piping, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, electrical wiring, lighting, generators, motors, water supply, UPS and switchgear.
• Perform routine inspections of all areas, self‑report problems, and conduct daily inspections of critical systems.
• Write and execute Method of Procedure (MOP), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP) documents.
• Identify and maintain spare‑parts inventory to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate and supervise scheduled system shutdowns.
• Develop and implement energy‑monitoring metrics.
• Support commissioning activities for new or upgraded equipment.
