Facilities Maintenance Technician – Columbus

About the role

Under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and Facilities Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the entire retail distribution center and its surrounding property. The role involves preventive, corrective, deferred and emergency maintenance of material handling equipment, building grounds, and custodial services while fostering personal development through training and team‑building activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to reactive maintenance requests.
• Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment inventory and schedule work.
• Conduct monthly safety and maintenance inspections and address emergencies promptly.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair material handling systems, including conveyors, drive motors, gearboxes, belts, and platforms.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment.
• Assemble and install equipment such as servo drives, frequency inverters, and linear drives.
• Inspect building perimeter daily and perform general repairs.
• Communicate important updates to distribution center partners.

Required profile

• 2‑3+ years of hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance, conveyor/automation, and MHE maintenance.
• At least 1 year of experience with electrical and electronic principles.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot basic relay logic and ladder diagrams.
• Familiarity with control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders.
