Extended Services Intern

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Extended Services Intern to support its intensive and extended case management teams in Baltimore. You will help vulnerable refugees, asylees, and humanitarian immigrants access essential health, education, and psychosocial resources.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients in remotely arranging transportation to medical and other required appointments.
• Conduct virtual home or community‑based orientation sessions on topics such as public transportation, making medical appointments, and accessing community resources.
• Support case management for single‑headed refugee households, survivors of domestic violence, older refugees, unaccompanied youth, and clients with mental health, physical disability, or medical conditions.
• Document services through case notes and maintain case files.
• Collaborate with the extended services team to connect at‑risk clients to healthcare, education, and psychosocial resources.

Required profile

• Passionate, solutions‑driven individual interested in humanitarian work.
• Strong interest in refugee resettlement processes and community integration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
• Commitment to a twelve‑month internship period.
