Experienced Heavy Industrial CNC Machinist

About the role

CMMC Machine, LLC is seeking experienced Heavy Industrial CNC Machinists for full‑time day and night shifts in North Charleston. The role involves setting up and operating manually controlled CNC equipment to fabricate, maintain, and repair machine parts and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Operate precision lathes, manual milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses, band saws and related cutting tools.
• Fabricate and shape metal parts, select and secure fixtures, tools and accessories, and perform daily cleaning and light maintenance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, track parts and jobs, and ensure work meets tolerance requirements.
• Use lifting aids, gauges and precision measuring instruments, and work overtime as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 5‑10 years of related CNC machining experience preferred.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to DoD facilities; no visa sponsorship available.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and operate overhead cranes.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Okuma, DMG/Mori, and Heidenhain CNC controls.
• Knowledge of G‑Code, M‑Code, and ability to maintain 0.001" tolerances.
• Experience with heavy industrial lathes, grinders, boring mills, planers, and portable tools.
• Forklift and crane operation experience.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
