Experienced Geotechnical Driller

About the role

The Experienced Geotechnical Driller will operate heavy drilling equipment in a variety of field environments, ensuring safe and efficient site investigation for geotechnical projects. The role requires strong physical stamina, a safety‑first mindset, and the ability to support engineers and technicians on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate mud rotary and auger drilling equipment, sampling systems, geophysical instruments and other in‑situ testing tools following ConeTec procedures.
• Provide timely assistance to engineers and technicians during field operations.
• Mobilise and demobilise equipment in remote or hard‑to‑access locations.
• Perform routine maintenance on drilling rigs and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Report safety incidents, near‑misses and equipment issues to the Project Manager and HSE Officer.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, lift up to 50 lb, climb, crawl and work long hours in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operation of mud rotary drilling rigs.
• Operation of auger drilling equipment.
• Use of sampling systems and geophysical instruments.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting (asset).
