Executive Director, CMBS Origination – Conduit & SASB

About the role

Santander is seeking an Executive Director to lead CMBS origination with a focus on conduit and SASB transactions. The role combines high‑level production with leadership, driving growth of the CMBS platform and strengthening market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the CMBS origination strategy, prioritising conduit and select SASB deals.
• Source, structure and originate commercial real‑estate loans across targeted property sectors.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with borrowers, mortgage bankers, brokers, financial sponsors and institutional investors.
• Deliver consistent loan production, revenue generation and meet profitability targets.
• Provide clients with market insights, financing solutions and execution guidance.
• Collaborate with transaction management and underwriting teams to assess financing structures, pricing and viability.
• Present opportunities to internal quote, investment and credit committees and negotiate transaction terms.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial real‑estate finance and CMBS origination.
• Proven track record of originating high‑value conduit and SASB transactions.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with a network of borrowers and sponsors.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior professionals while driving team performance.
