Estimator

About the role

ApacheIP is hiring an Estimator in Omaha, reporting to the VP, Central Estimating. Estimators handle every aspect of bidding a project, including labor, time and materials requirements, to determine the overall project cost and increase profitability through comprehensive cost estimating.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze contract documents for terms, specifications, clarifications and requirements, then prepare estimates and bid proposals.
• Estimate the majority of work for the region or business line, including target projects and the owners list, and manage bid flow.
• Read and interpret detailed specifications and drawings, use formulas and make calculations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industrial services experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience reading isometric drawings.
• 3+ years of experience estimating industrial services lines of business.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions.
• Knowledge of safety procedures is a plus.

Physical demands include remaining in a stationary position for long periods, often standing or sitting, and light work moving objects up to twenty pounds.
