About the role

Join 3M as an Environmental Engineer at the Cordova, Illinois facility, where you will collaborate with global teams to develop and implement environmental programs that ensure compliance and mitigate hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental programs and practices to mitigate hazards and ensure site compliance.
• Interpret, coordinate, and maintain regulatory compliance reporting for Federal, State, and Local environmental permits.
• Analyze environmental data, self‑assessments, and trends, and communicate findings and corrective recommendations to operational leadership.
• Build knowledge of external environmental technologies and relate them to division business needs.
• Evaluate complex regulatory challenges across environmental media in dynamic manufacturing operations.
• Establish and cultivate intra‑divisional networks to support completion of environmental assignments.
• Communicate project status and results to operational leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Biochemical, or Environmental Engineering.
• 1–2 years of related environmental or engineering experience in private, public, government, or military settings.
• Proven experience working with Microsoft Teams.
• Leadership experience in previous roles, clubs, or extracurricular activities.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to work onsite in Cordova, IL, with up to 10 % travel.
