Entry-Level Street Light Technician (Non‑Union)

About the role

This is an entry‑level, full‑time position focused on installing, repairing, and maintaining streetlights and related infrastructure. No prior experience is required; paid on‑the‑job training and weekly pay are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Operate aerial devices, bucket trucks, digger derrick trucks, backhoes, air compressors, generators, and hand tools to install and service streetlights.
• Excavate and set poles or foundations, following construction plans, blueprints, and as‑builts.
• Maintain accurate job logs, coordinate with locating companies, traffic control, and utility partners.
• Communicate with management and first responders during emergency storm work.
• Follow all company and industry safety and health protocols while working near energized equipment.

Required profile

• Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid DOT medical card and driver’s license.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, with possible overtime and weekend shifts.
• Willingness to travel for emergency storm response.

Required skills

• Proficiency with voltmeter, power tools, and hand tools.
• Operation of heavy equipment (bucket trucks, digger derrick trucks, backhoes, air compressors, generators).
• Reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and as‑builts.
• Basic knowledge of power delivery components.
