Entry Level Construction Inspector – Transportation Projects

About the role

Artheon is seeking recent civil engineering graduates to join its transportation and infrastructure team. The Entry Level Construction Inspector will support highway, bridge, and airport projects by performing field inspections and assisting with office engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily field inspections on transportation construction sites.
• Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, and project records.
• Assist with office engineer duties, including reviewing construction documents and coordinating project information.
• Support materials testing, quality assurance, and project close‑out documentation.
• Work flexible hours, including night shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented problem‑solver with a willingness to work outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Required skills

• OSHA 10 certification.
• New Jersey ACI Concrete Certification (NJACI).
• New Jersey Subsurface Aggregate Technician (NJSAT).
• NICET Level I, II, or III certification.
• Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) certification.
• Materials testing knowledge.
