Engineering Technician II (T2) – Electro-Mechanical

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician II (T2) to perform complex electro‑mechanical tasks on semiconductor equipment in Austin, TX. The role supports design, testing, fabrication and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, checkout, fabricate, modify and assemble electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, including prototype models and specialized test fixtures.
• Perform system‑level and component‑level troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum subsystems with minimal supervision.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, write technical reports and assist in developing and revising standard operating procedures.
• Provide training to lower‑level technicians and act as a technical resource for specific platforms or products.

Required profile

• Full understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to solve difficult problems, recommend product improvements and support NPI installations and field upgrades.
