Electronics Engineer – Ocean Robotics

About the role

Seasats is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to design and build hardware for a rapidly scaling fleet of oceangoing robots. You will work on power systems, communications hardware, and customer payloads for autonomous surface vessels that operate in demanding maritime environments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CTO, testing, R&D, and production teams to deliver reliable electronic systems on tight timelines.
• Design, prototype, and validate PCBs, cable harnesses, sensors, and power distribution modules.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans that address worst‑case field conditions.
• Document production procedures, generate assembly guides, and support first‑article builds.

Required profile

• Proven ability to design, build, debug, and iterate electrical systems (PCBs, cables, sensors).
• Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout.
• Track record of delivering hardware that has been produced in batches of 50+ units.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously while meeting strict deadlines.
• Eligibility for U.S. security clearance and U.S. person status.
