Electrical Engineer & Designer – 6+ Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer / Electrical Designer for a 6‑month contract to support an industrial plant electrical upgrade project. The role is based in Houston, TX, with regular travel to North‑East USA sites for inspections, field verification and data collection.

Key responsibilities

• Design and modify power distribution systems, including medium‑ and low‑voltage networks.
• Develop and support Motor Control Center (MCC) designs.
• Perform electrical rewiring, cable routing and layout planning.
• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation using AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
• Conduct site inspections, collect field data and coordinate with engineering and project teams.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning and review of single‑line diagrams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Diploma candidates may be considered for Designer positions).
• Proven experience with 4.16 kV, 480 V, 440 V and 220 V systems.
• Hands‑on experience in industrial electrical projects, MCC and switchgear.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA standards and ability to read electrical schematics.

Required skills

• AutoCAD Electrical or comparable design software.
• ETAP or SKM for power system analysis (preferred).
• Cable routing and electrical layout design.
• Power distribution system engineering.
• Understanding of NEC/NFPA codes.
