Division Chief, Hematology Oncology (Full‑time Academic)

About the role

Ochsner Health and LSU Health Shreveport are seeking an experienced physician to lead the Hematology Oncology division. The role combines clinical practice, research leadership, and academic teaching across the Northwest Louisiana region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Hematology Oncology division, coordinating clinical, research and educational activities across the Northwest Louisiana region.
• Oversee physician and clinical operations, program development and quality metrics for medical oncology.
• Provide direct patient care in the clinic four days per week, including disease‑specific subspecialty management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and on‑call rotations as required.
• Teach fellows, residents and medical students and mentor faculty in research and clinical practice.
• Develop community outreach and referral strategies in partnership with business development.

Required profile

• Board certified in Medical Oncology/Hematology with 5–7 years of practice as an oncologist or hematologist.
• Proven administrative leadership experience, preferably with prior division or department management.
• Research experience, ideally with national funding and a record of mentorship.
• Commitment to teaching, multidisciplinary care and community engagement.
