Director, Test Code Product & Lifecycle

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Director, Test Code Product & Lifecycle to provide technical leadership and management direction for its database administration teams in a matrix-managed environment. The role leads advanced database design, analysis, administration and performance optimization to support complex processing needs and future business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and management direction to database administration team members.
• Manage resource allocations within a matrix-managed environment.
• Lead, plan and oversee state-of-the-art database designs to solve complex database processing problems.
• Perform complex database analysis and design using advanced techniques.
• Ensure databases meet operational standards for reliability, response time and query execution time.
• Prepare cost analyses and justifications for difficult database systems.
• Serve as a senior consultant giving strategic advice on database analysis and design reviews.
• Take part in administering, monitoring, tuning and supporting production databases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12 years of information technology experience.
• 8 years of experience in database administration.
• Clinical or regulated laboratory experience is helpful.
• Other equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted.

Required skills

• Database administration: denormalization, data archival, sizing, DDL and database objects.
• Referential integrity, security enforcement and application optimization.
• Ability to lead technical teams and give strategic advice on complex database design and implementation.
• Problem-solving and evaluation of technical options for backup and recovery strategies.

The stated base pay range is $107,800 to $300,100 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; incentives, bonuses and other benefits may also apply.
