About the role
The Director of STEM Outreach leads the planning, coordination and management of outreach initiatives that promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degree programs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Reporting to the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the role works to attract and retain students across all STEM disciplines.
Key responsibilities
- Design, organize and execute campus‑wide STEM outreach events, workshops, and recruitment activities.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff and external partners to develop programs that showcase STEM career pathways.
- Manage budgets, timelines and logistics for all outreach initiatives.
- Track participation metrics and evaluate program effectiveness to inform continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and community groups interested in STEM education.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline or related field (preferred).
- At least two years of experience working with students in a STEM environment or student‑success programs.
- Four years of experience in student success, retention or related initiatives is also acceptable.
