About the role
The Director, Planned Giving leads the university’s planned giving program across all campuses and the medical center. This senior position partners with development officers, senior leaders, and external advisors to build a strong financial foundation through strategic philanthropy.
Key responsibilities
- Cultivate and document planned giving prospects and donors.
- Manage estate administration and life‑income programs.
- Provide training and education on planned giving to staff and volunteers.
- Advise development officers on complex charitable giving vehicles, tax considerations, and wealth‑planning strategies.
- Collaborate with attorneys, accountants, trust officers, and financial advisors to facilitate donor engagements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate.
- 5‑7 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in planned giving or estate and trust administration.
- Proven experience documenting bequests and reviewing planned‑giving legal documents.
- Strong knowledge of legal, tax, and procedural aspects of estate planning and fiduciary responsibilities.
