Director of Quality, Compliance & Operational Systems

About the role

The Director of Quality, Compliance & Operational Systems will lead the quality management system and regulatory compliance across a fast‑growing aerospace and defense organization. This hands‑on leader will create an audit‑ready environment, ensuring strict adherence to government contracts, export controls and operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and AS9120 standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison for DCMA, DoD/USAF customers and prime contractors, guaranteeing full contractual and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee audit activities, non‑conformance handling and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with packaging, labeling, traceability and ITAR/EAR export control requirements.
• Drive operational discipline across ERP and CRM platforms, aligning inventory, orders, shipments and financial reporting.
• Manage supplier quality, process documentation, SOP governance and change management.
• Develop KPI‑driven reporting and lead cross‑functional projects to boost quality, delivery performance and efficiency.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in aerospace, aviation or defense quality, compliance or operational leadership.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9120, government contract compliance and audit management.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams in regulated environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
