Director of Operations

About the role

The Director of Operations will lead Breakthru Beverage’s warehousing and distribution functions in Sandston, VA. This senior position oversees all operational activities, drives continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic plan for warehousing and distribution, leveraging technology and financial analysis.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives in quality, safety, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget, monitor variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee receiving, sortation, loading, delivery, fleet maintenance, sanitation, inventory control, and returns management.
• Direct facility maintenance, capital improvements, and layout redesigns.
• Manage the company security program in collaboration with operations staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years in warehousing or distribution, including at least 5 years in a management role.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a high‑volume team.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Office and presentation software.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
• Knowledge of distribution routing software, preferably Roadnet.
• Familiarity with conveyor and sortation equipment.
