Director of Operations

About the role

Meadows Urquhart is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the firm’s administrative functions, workflow coordination, and internal support services. This senior leader will ensure that day‑to‑day operations across tax, audit, and advisory lines run smoothly, align with strategic goals, and deliver a consistent client and employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily administrative operations for all service lines, establishing standardized workflows, timelines, and best practices.
• Monitor project status, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve delays.
• Lead busy‑season planning, execution, and post‑season debriefs.
• Develop and maintain a firm‑wide capacity model, aligning staffing levels with forecasted workload.
• Partner with HR to address resource gaps and support hiring initiatives.
• Drive process improvement, technology adoption, and marketing coordination initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with firm leadership, service‑line heads, and technology resources to enhance operational effectiveness and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading administrative and operational functions in a professional‑services environment.
• Strong analytical ability to build capacity models and optimize resource allocation.
• Demonstrated skill in cross‑functional collaboration with senior leadership, HR, and technology teams.
