Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

Max Academy USA is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to serve as the CEO’s right‑hand on all financial matters. You will own the company’s financial models, reporting, and narrative that guide strategic and operational decisions across its network of preschools.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a daily corporate financial runway, tracking actual transactions, P&L metrics, and 120‑day forward projections.
• Present the updated runway file each Friday, including reconciled historical data and revised income and expense forecasts.
• Adjust projected revenue from government and state programs in real time based on administration inputs.
• Monitor bank balances and ensure credit‑card obligations are covered two days before each cutoff.
• Review all credit‑card expenses within 10 days of each cutoff and flag any variances from approved budgets.
• Prepare school‑level OPEX reports within the first five days of each month.
• Oversee QuickBooks bookkeeping accuracy and lead a monthly financial statement review within ten days of month‑end.
• Approve annual tax returns for each school entity before IRS filing.
• Keep SOPs and internal Loom video library current on a monthly basis.

Required profile

• Advanced Excel expertise, capable of building complex, multi‑tab financial models.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce audit‑ready work.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret numbers and recommend actions.
• Experience managing finances for multi‑entity or multi‑location organizations.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, including reviewing entries and identifying discrepancies.
• Clear, concise communication skills for executive presentations and written summaries.
• Self‑motivated, meeting recurring deadlines without reminders and escalating issues promptly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
