Director of Facilities Management

About the role

The Director of Facilities Management leads the planning, construction, operation, and overall management of university facilities within the Division of Agriculture. Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Vice President for Agriculture – Extension, this senior leader ensures a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained environment for staff, students, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a safe work environment and oversee all safety matters related to buildings, grounds, and personnel.
• Administer building security camera systems and employee ID badge access controls.
• Maintain and manage the key lock system for all facilities.
• Coordinate facility planning, construction projects, and ongoing operations with university departments and external contractors.
• Develop and manage budgets, oversee maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise facilities staff and service providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a higher‑education or large‑institution setting.
• Strong leadership and administrative abilities with a track record of managing complex projects.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and security systems.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with university leadership and external partners.
