Director of Development & External Relations

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law seeks a strategic leader to drive its fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and the Dean of the Law School, the Director will manage major gift initiatives that support the school’s Centennial Campaign and broader advancement goals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit major donors to grow the major giving portfolio.
• Conduct face‑to‑face visits with prospects and manage the solicitation process.
• Collaborate with university leadership to align fundraising initiatives with institutional priorities.
• Track and report measurable metrics related to major gift production and campaign progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience in major‑gift fundraising within a higher‑education or nonprofit setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a donor portfolio and achieve fundraising targets.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with donors, alumni, and internal stakeholders.
