About the role

Giga is hiring its first dedicated commercial counsel at the Director level to own and accelerate the company’s contracting process. The role is based on‑site in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood and is critical to supporting rapid, high‑value enterprise deals.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, with a focus on complex Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), vendor contracts, and SaaS/technology agreements.
• Partner with the sales team to remove bottlenecks, triage contract requests, and keep deals moving swiftly while ensuring policy consistency.
• Develop and maintain contracting infrastructure, including templates, fallback positions, playbooks, and contract lifecycle workflows.
• Identify recurring negotiation patterns and proactively reduce friction.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal counsel to cross‑functional stakeholders on contract structure, risk allocation, and compliance.

Required profile

• Experienced commercial attorney with a track record of handling large‑enterprise SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and deliver practical, business‑oriented legal advice.
• Strong understanding of risk management in high‑growth technology environments.
