Director, Data Acquisition

About the role

The Director, Data Acquisition leads the strategy for sourcing, evaluating, and managing external data assets that support Life Insurance and Healthcare products. Reporting to senior leadership, this hybrid‑work position partners across product, analytics, legal, compliance, finance, and technology to drive data‑driven growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the data acquisition strategy, operating model and measurable outcomes for Life Insurance and Healthcare verticals.
• Manage the existing third‑party data portfolio, including contracts, relationships and business opportunities.
• Identify, prioritize and negotiate new data partnerships that enhance product differentiation and commercial value.
• Lead complex supplier negotiations, balancing value, risk, resilience and long‑term flexibility.
• Oversee the full data lifecycle – due diligence, onboarding, governance, performance management, renewals and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with product, legal, compliance, finance, technology and senior leadership to align decisions and accelerate execution.
• Develop business cases and executive communications grounded in market insight, data analysis and financial modeling.
• Anticipate emerging risks and opportunities, adjusting priorities and continuously improving processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in data acquisition, vendor management or business development, preferably within healthcare or life‑insurance.
• Established network and relationships in the healthcare data industry.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and FCRA regulatory obligations.
• Proven success negotiating complex contracts and managing external data relationships.
• Highly organized, self‑motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent research, financial analysis and business influence skills.
• Executive presence with solid collaboration and communication abilities.

• Competitive base salary ranging from $136,100 to $252,800 per year.
