Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Montebello, CA Service Center. You will handle day‑to‑day equipment maintenance, performing preventive maintenance and both minor and major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers and, when needed, forklifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers and forklifts.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies and perform welding as required.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, including major engine repairs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lb and have own tools.
• Class A CDL holder with experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Ability to work on AC and electrical systems.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance on diesel engines.
• Repair of Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Use of Cetaris work‑order system.
• Trailer preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Welding skills for equipment repairs.
