Data Scientist – NLP & LLM Solutions

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is seeking multiple Data Scientists to design and develop deep‑learning frameworks for natural language processing (NLP) that support business objectives. You will work on large language model (LLM) solutions for content extraction, search, question answering, reasoning, and recommendation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and test deep‑learning models for NLP tasks.
• Develop LLM‑based solutions, including prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, tool calling and agent orchestration.
• Set up evaluation pipelines to monitor model performance and apply active learning for continuous improvement.
• Present modeling results through written reports, visualisations, and oral briefings to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy scalable solutions in production.
• Stay current with scientific literature to incorporate state‑of‑the‑art NLP techniques.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or similar role.
• Experience designing NLP models (minimum 3 years) and building LLM solutions (minimum 1 year).
• Background in analyzing financial reports, analyst notes and client communications to extract actionable insights.

Required skills

• Python or Java programming.
• PyTorch (Torch) and Huggingface libraries.
• Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, Tool Calling, Agent Orchestration.

• Full‑time permanent position with a salary range of $160,000‑$170,000 per year.
