Data Engineering Intern – AI & Analytics

About the role

Join the AI & Analytics team at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies as a Data Engineering Intern. You will help transform massive vehicle and fleet data into reliable infrastructure and analytics that power software‑defined vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ELT workflows on platforms such as Databricks.
• Write Python and SQL code to process, transform, and validate large data sets.
• Support machine‑learning model development, evaluation, and deployment infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to meet platform needs.
• Develop automated data‑quality tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Document work and share progress with the team throughout the internship.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited U.S. university.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Preferably pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related field with intent to return to school after the internship.
