Data Engineer I – AWS, Python, GenAI

About the role

Travelers is looking for a Data Engineer I to join its Data Engineering team. In this role you will design, build, and deploy data pipelines that enable enterprise‑wide analytics, AI, and machine‑learning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions, applying transformations and recommending data‑cleansing strategies.
• Design end‑to‑end data pipelines that ingest, process, and store data for analytical use.
• Analyze source systems to assess value and recommend inclusion in analytical workflows.
• Implement data‑governance, security, and quality controls across all data assets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver data products and educate end users.
• Perform testing of data movement, transformation code, and resolve moderate‑complexity defects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience, including at least three years as a data engineer.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into business value.
