Custodian – Multiple Open Positions

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking custodians to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments across campus facilities. This is a full‑time, regular staff position with rotating shifts that support academic, residential, and event spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning of office buildings, classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, auditoriums, resident halls, dining areas, and other common spaces.
• Dust mop, wet mop, and operate floor‑scrubbing equipment to maintain floor appearance.
• Apply appropriate cleaning chemicals and follow safety procedures.
• Ensure all areas are prepared for campus events, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Report maintenance issues and restock cleaning supplies as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work the 5:30 am – 2:00 pm shift with rotating weekends and flexible hours.
• Six months or more of experience cleaning office or educational facilities (preferred).
• Experience working on a college campus (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Required skills

• Operation of floor cleaning equipment (dust mop, wet mop, floor scrubber).
• Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Physical stamina for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting.
