About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking board‑certified/board‑eligible critical care physicians to join a team of four critical care anesthesiologists. The role blends approximately 25% clinical critical‑care work with a mixed operative anesthesiology practice in a high‑acuity Surgical ICU environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide critical care medicine for roughly one‑quarter of clinical time.
  • Perform a mixed operative anesthesiology practice covering cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
  • Work in the Ochsner Surgical ICU, an interprofessional team caring for 34 high‑acuity patients, including those on ECMO, LVAD, and IABP.

Required profile

  • Board‑certified/board‑eligible in Critical Care Medicine; dual certification in Anesthesiology is preferred.
  • Strong interest in academic medicine, research, and teaching.
  • Eligible to work in the United States (no J‑1 visa sponsorship).

Required skills

  • Critical Care Medicine.
  • Anesthesiology, including peri‑operative management.
  • Experience with mechanical circulatory support technologies such as ECMO, LVAD, and IABP.
