Court Services Officer I – 18th Judicial District

About the role

The Kansas Judicial Branch is seeking a Court Services Officer I to work in the 18th Judicial District, providing supervision and support to individuals under the jurisdiction of the District Court. This position involves direct client interaction, compliance monitoring, and collaboration with community resources.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and assist clients subject to court orders, ensuring they understand and meet requirements.
• Conduct urinalysis, breathalyzer tests, and other compliance checks.
• Maintain accurate records of client contacts, caseloads, and investigative findings.
• Research and investigate non‑compliance issues and prepare related legal documents such as warrants, journal entries, and recommendation letters.
• Coordinate with community agencies and stakeholders to connect clients with needed services.
• Work independently or as part of a team under the guidance of a senior court services officer.

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a major in corrections, counseling, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology, or a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certifications (SASSI, LS/CMI, WRNA, EPICS) within one year and renew annually.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to convey information concisely.
• Knowledge of interviewing and individual counseling techniques.
