County Extension Agent Intern

About the role

The County Extension Agent Intern supports the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture’s Extension network across the state. Working closely with County Extension Agents, the intern helps plan and deliver educational programs that benefit agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4‑H youth development, and community development.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with County Extension Agents to coordinate and implement extension events and activities.
• Assist in preparing event materials, gathering information, and managing logistics.
• Participate in meetings to identify local issues, discuss program results, and help shape future plans.
• Support outreach efforts in agriculture, consumer sciences, youth development, policy, and economic development.
• Seek guidance from mentors to understand the mission and history of the Division of Agriculture.

Required profile

• Current student of the University of Arkansas System.
• Interest in agriculture, community outreach, and youth development.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn about extension services and public policy.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
