Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

This hands‑on leadership position reports directly to the CFO and is ideal for a professional who enjoys building and refining finance processes in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment. You will help lay the groundwork for a scalable finance function while supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, month‑end close, and financial reporting.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, reporting, and operational decisions.
• Develop scalable processes to support a membership‑based, subscription business model.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management initiatives.
• Evaluate and optimize existing ERP and financial systems.
• Play a pivotal role in growing the accounting/finance team over time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 8–12+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including public accounting and corporate roles.
• Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
• Experience in membership‑based, subscription, or recurring‑revenue environments is a plus.
• CPA designation preferred.

Required skills

• Strong process‑improvement and systems experience.
• ERP exposure required; experience with Great Plains is a plus.
