Construction Project Superintendent

About the role

The Project Superintendent leads day‑to‑day field operations for construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is focused on retail construction environments where fast‑paced scheduling and site logistics are critical.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing the master construction schedule and track deviations.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all on‑site construction activities.
• Manage daily activities of subcontractors and vendors, enforcing specifications, safety, and quality control.
• Maintain field documentation such as daily reports, job logs, as‑built drawings, and change orders.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings to resolve conflicts and keep workflow smooth.
• Enforce site safety policies and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Control material deliveries and job‑site logistics, especially in occupied retail spaces.
• Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and assist with pre‑construction estimate reviews.
• Review subcontractor invoices and serve as the primary on‑site contact for clients, inspectors, and stakeholders.
• Oversee project closeout, ensuring punch‑list completion and owner/architect sign‑off.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years progressive field supervision in commercial construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to lead field operations under tight schedules.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, work multi‑story sites, and operate in Texas weather conditions.

Required skills

• OSHA 30 Certification (preferred).
