Community Assistant – Student Living at Varsity Ann Arbor

About the role

The Community Assistant supports the property management team at the Varsity Ann Arbor student‑living community. This role helps achieve occupancy and retention goals through administrative, leasing, and resident‑service tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform office administration such as copying documents, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling resident calls, and organizing rent payments.
• Assist sales and leasing activities: conduct virtual tours, respond to online inquiries, greet and qualify prospects, give property tours, and show apartments.
• Generate lease paperwork, organize resident lease files, and support the lease preparation process.
• Coordinate move‑in and move‑out processes, including mandatory work dates for turn‑overs.
• Answer incoming calls, set appointments for prospect tours, and conduct on‑campus marketing outreach.
• Help organize resident events, birthday cards, unit visits, and other programs to boost resident satisfaction.
• Distribute notices, flyers, newsletters, resident surveys, and late notices.
• Serve as an after‑hours liaison, responding to emergencies and covering at least one on‑call shift per week.

Required profile

• Availability to work mandatory move‑in/move‑out dates and on‑call shifts.
• Ability to respond quickly and courteously to resident inquiries and emergencies.
• Strong organizational skills for handling paperwork and scheduling.
