Commercial Field Service Technician (Crew Based)

About the role

As a Commercial Field Service Technician you will travel across the United States supporting Tesla’s commercial energy portfolio, primarily solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on solar arrays, energy storage and EV charging installations while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Layout and assist in the assembly of solar modules, mounting hardware and electrical equipment.
• Organize trucks and tools for daily installations and removals, keeping equipment neat and ready.
• Perform preventive maintenance on commercial PV systems and mentor team members as needed.
• Respond to corrective maintenance cases for all commercial energy products, logging work accurately online.
• Address customer concerns regarding system performance or functionality.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience installing and servicing commercial or utility‑scale PV equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, ability to read electrical plan sets and equipment manuals.
• Proficiency with power and hand tools and independent navigation of multiple computer applications.
• Physical ability to work at heights, lift 50 lb regularly, and operate in extreme weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 100 % of the time.
