Civil Project Manager

About the role

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead construction teams from project start‑up through close‑out. The role involves comprehensive planning, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct project start‑up meetings two weeks before kickoff and close‑out meetings within 45 days of completion.
• Maintain accurate project budgets, update weekly, and track financial performance and productivity.
• Process accounts receivable and payable in coordination with corporate finance, keeping A/P under 7 days and A/R within client terms.
• Collaborate with field operations to achieve budgeted profitability and update daily field production reports.
• Manage prime contracts and change orders, ensuring written authorization for any out‑of‑scope work.
• Oversee procurement to align with schedules, ensuring materials and subcontractors are on site as needed.
• Develop, maintain, and cascade project schedules to field teams and subcontractors, resolving any conflicts with customers.
• Complete monthly Job Progress Reports and maintain daily project logs.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing civil construction projects from inception to close‑out.
• Strong financial acumen with ability to manage budgets, A/R, and A/P.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for coordinating with field teams, subcontractors, and clients.
• Ability to enforce contract compliance and manage change orders effectively.
