About the role
The Chemotherapy Infusion Registered Nurse provides essential nursing care to oncology patients and their families, delivering both direct and indirect services in a clinical setting. This role works closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective chemotherapy administration and optimal patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy infusions and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, education, and symptom management for oncology patients.
- Coordinate indirect nursing activities such as documentation, care planning, and collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and support staff.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to align treatment goals and improve patient outcomes.
Required profile
- Proficiency in written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
- Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program, or equivalent foreign nursing education with validated equivalency.
- Current, unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Eligibility for state licensure; candidates without licensure may be appointed as Graduate Nurse Technicians on a temporary basis.
