Buyer – Purchasing Specialist

About the role
Responsible for purchasing activities required to procure materials and supplies in a timely and cost‑effective manner to support the manufacturing facility. The Buyer will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure production schedules are met.
Key responsibilities
- Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services to select the most reliable and cost‑efficient options.
- Prepare, process, and schedule purchase orders, and verify deliveries to align with production needs.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions and monitor market trends for relevant products.
- Build and sustain long‑term supplier relationships and resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing and Procurement Manager on additional duties as directed.
Required profile
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business or a related field.
- At least two years of clerical or purchasing experience preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and learn purchasing procedures.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of Infor Manufacturing systems (a plus).
- Familiarity with MRP processes (a plus).
