Building Inspector / Plans Reviewer

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Building Inspector for its Lewistown, PA office. The role involves performing a full range of inspections and evaluations of residential new construction and light commercial new construction.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate residential new construction and light commercial new construction, including structural and non‑structural components.
• Assess plumbing, mechanical, electrical, green building, and fire protection systems for code compliance.
• Compile, analyze, and evaluate findings of investigations and inspections.
• Issue standard construction and occupancy permits and approve final inspection certificates.
• Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records and reports related to inspection activities.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma (associate’s degree preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience as a certified building inspector performing multi‑code inspections, or equivalent education/experience.
• Current PA UCC certification; ICC Combination Building Inspector certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Working knowledge of PA UCC, ICC, and applicable local codes.
